How could contemporary architecture be implemented to incorporate present-day values and techniques while respecting an authentic and protected patrimony?
La fábrica de Patrimonio (The Patrimony factory) is an exhibition that analyses the architecture of the ‘Port de la Lune’ (Port of the Moon) in Bordeaux, listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007, an exchange point for people of the sea and the land and a place offering many possibilities from the architectural point of view.
The exhibition was created in the year 2015-16 in collaboration between the ensapBx (Bordeaux National School of Architecture and Landscape) and the CIAP (Bordeaux World Heritage, Interpretation Centre of Bordeaux Architecture and Patrimony).
It was presented in Bordeaux on the 3rd. of June 2016 and was shown until the 8th of January 2017 in the CIAP. It takes into consideration how contemporary architecture can be produced without damaging the authenticity of patrimony.
