Inhabiting the border

The Reflex Space invites curator and artist Marlon de Azambuja to rethink the exhibition 'Habitar la frontera' (Inhabiting the border) in the framework of the I Basque Country International Architecture Biennial.

The exhibition 'Habitar la frontera' (Inhabiting the border), originally created for the OTR space in Madrid, brings together a collection of works and artists from different origins and tries to open up a possible dialogue on the idea of borders, approaching it from different shores. During the curation process, the artists were invited to think about how their work relates to this reflection on borders, thus creating a compound of very diverse first-hand perspectives from their creators.

For this first edition of the Architecture Biennial, we propose an exhibition that is based on the same principle and maintains most of the artists and works from the original exhibition, but with some modifications to the collaborators in order to better adapt it to the new space and context.

Artists: Irene de Andrés, Primoz Bizjak, Katherine Fiedler, Donna Colón & Jonathan Harker, Bostjan Pucelj, Maya Saravia, Mauro Vallejo, Gabriela Bettini, Roberto Cardenas, and  Maria Cerdá.
