María Heras

María Heras Lasanta completed a degree in Architecture at the ETSAM and is currently studying at the TÜ München (Germany). In her Bachelor's thesis, she already took an interest in the influence of constructed environment on people, their well-being, their quality of life, their social relations...

This concern, together with her personal and work-related experiences, is still present in her Master's thesis and is the starting point of her doctoral dissertation. Her inquisitiveness to know other social and cultural contexts as well as different approaches to her profession led her to work for the AECID (Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation) in the city of Granada (Nicaragua).

She moved to Dublin to take over coordination and liaison tasks between the multi-disciplinary team of the South West Acute Hospital of Enniskillen (Northern Ireland) and the construction company.?Since 2010, she works at the Programme Monitoring Office of the Soria City Council, supervising and drafting Urban Planning Instruments and monitoring projects financed by European programmes (Life + Corredor CO2cero, Life+ People CO2cero, FEDER for the renewal of the Mercado de Abastos [Vegetable Market] and its urban environment, EDUSI “Soria Intramuros” [Soria Within The Walls]).
